Position: New Model Engineer
\nLocation: Nashville, TN area<\/p>\n

A Global Manufacturing Company in the Nashville, TN area is looking for a qualified candidate for a New Model Engineer position.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:
\n\u2022 Coordinate, schedule, and communicate targets and goals for the successful launch of New Models.
\n\u2022 Review drawings and designs for all major and minor new model changes.
\n\u2022 Support feasibility studies on new technologies, design concepts and equipment.
\n\u2022 Review drawings with internal team and customers to verify the design.
\n\u2022 Identify past model problem history, opportunities for cost savings and safety concerns.
\n\u2022 Communicate change points to other departments.
\n\u2022 Issue countermeasure request forms to R&D Department for improvements in quality, cost, delivery, safety and assembly.
\n\u2022 Develop and present project status updates, change points, recommendations, etc.
\n\u2022 Active participation in equipment design from Spec development through install.
\n\u2022 Attend New Model Trials.
\n\u2022 Identify, and document equipment\/quality\/process trial problems and actively support countermeasure activities.
\n\u2022 Communicate initial issues from build events to vendors.
\n\u2022 Inform team members and other Departments of project change points.
\n\u2022 Support quality problems and recommend countermeasures before mass production.
\n\u2022 Support New Model Start-Up and Mass Production.
\n\u2022 Respond immediately to complex issues during production.
\n\u2022 Utilize necessary tools to understand root causes and implement containment.
\n\u2022 Create problem summary and reflect on mass production issues.
\n\u2022 Inspect product and new model development (e.g., check tolerances, fixtures, parts, etc.).
\n\u2022 Update and track items; create problem summary and reflect on mass production issues.
\n\u2022 Conduct mass production audits for problem prevention.
\n\u2022 Conduct testing\/sampling for quality verification.<\/p>\n
Requirements:
\n\u2022 Knowledge of the manufacturing environment.
\n\u2022 Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
\n\u2022 Ability to present to varying audiences.
\n\u2022 Ability to operate CAD and CATIA software.
\n\u2022 Ability to read drawings.
\n\u2022 Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
\n\u2022 Ability to work independently
\n\u2022 Possess interpersonal skills.
\n\u2022 Excellent communication skills (written and oral).<\/p>\n
This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts\/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
